If activities aren’t your thing why not relax at one of our cafes, BBQ or picnic sites and enjoy the wonderful views in an ever changing landscape. Visitor Centres have exhibitions and easy wildlife watching opportunities on TV screens during the breeding seasons.

 

 

 

BBQ sites

Our BBQ facilities can be hired at Muirshiel and Greenock Cut.  There are special metal plates on the picnic tables at Lunderston Bay.  If you bring your own portable BBQ remember not to place it directly onto the grass or on a picnic table.

 

 

Castle Semple Café

The loch side café, with its comfortable seats and great views, sells hot and cold drinks, pre packed sandwiches and toasties, pot noodles, cup-a-soups, crisps, chocolate, cakes, health bars and ice cream.
The café with its accompanying gift shop is open daily throughout the year and often accommodates birthday celebrations and outdoor activity groups.
Option to watch wildlife or local history on TV.

Castle Semple Estate Exhibition provides an insight on the making of, and past owners of the Estate, open daily, free access.

Greenock Cut Café

Great coffee, teas, hot chocolate as well as a wide range of cold drinks plus pot noodles, crisps, chocolate, cakes, health bars and ice cream are all available at the Greenock Cut Visitor Centre, come in for a comfortable seat or sit outside.
The café with its accompanying gift shop is daily in summer, weekends in winter and by arrangement.
Option to watch Swallows on live TV during the breeding seasons.
Discover Greenock’s Cut Above Exhibition it is interactive and free to wander around.

Muirshiel Refreshments

Enjoy a scenic journey up the single track road of the Calder Glen and stop for a coffee and light refreshments in the Visitor Centre. There are comfortable seats inside and picnic benches outside both have great views through the trees to the heather moors. Look out for birds and other wildlife on the feeders.
The café with its accompanying gift shop is open (park-sites/muirshiel/) daily in summer, weekends in winter and by arrangement. Directions.
Option to watch Hen Harriers on live TV during the breeding season.
Regular seasonal exhibitions and displays include a Hen Harrier Exhibition in the spring and summer months and a photographic competition in the winter.

Wildlife on Screen
