Enjoy the peace and quite – mobile phone reception can be patchy! Listen to the Locher Burn meander pass, take advantage of the nearby Locherwood Community Woodland for walks and wildlife watching, views to Loch Lomond National Park and a link route (5.5km) to Muirshiel Visitor Centre & Country Park.
The site is in an ideal location for Duke of Edinburgh camps. Group visits must be pre arranged in office hours. One member of the party must be over 25. The dedicated group use facilities block has a kitchen, dining/meeting room, drying room, shower and toilet facilities. Organised groups have the option to use the shielings – wooden tents with a light and small heater.
The nearest shops, banks, and catering outlets are 4 km away.
The site is not suitable for caravans or dogs.
