Description:

A popular location for admiring panoramic views up and down the Clyde coast looking out over Largs to the Isles of Cumbrae, Bute and Arran.

A short walking option is the signposted walk along to Castle Hill, where there are traces of an Iron Age Hill Fort or down into Largs but remember the steep climb back up again! Longer walks within the Regional Park if you have suitable hill walking equipment include the Gogo Water and the Greeto Falls.

Largs Paths includes descriptions for Castle Hill fort, Douglas Park and Gogo Glen routes. Longer routes nearby include Irish Law.

Ways 2 Walk in North Ayrshire run a walks programme. Leisurely walks take place in and around Largs on Tuesday afternoons or on Cumbrae on Wednesday afternoons.

On A760, 1.5 miles from junction with A78 in Largs. Brown signed at picnic site and viewpoint.

Train

Nearest Station Largs. Walk up along the front towards The Pencil and up through Douglas Park (route description - yellow route, Douglas Park and Castle Hill) - www.firstscotrail.co.uk
