| Description:
The
Church was founded near where the original Sempill
Castle once stood and endowed in 1504 by John, 1st
Lord Sempill. Built in the late Gothic style with
a rectangular body and square tower at the west end
and a three sided aspe at the east end. The Church
is in the care of Historic Scotland.
The 5 km circular walking route from Castle Semple
Visitor Centre is way marked along the loch shore,
up through Parkhill Wood. The path can be muddy in
places. Return by passing the church to a ramp before
the bridge, 100m to the east of the Church and onto
the cycle track.
The cycle track offers a more direct access route
on a flat surface. This is also the preferred access
route for cyclists.
