Description:

Barnbrock CampsiteAn attractive countryside campsite with basic facilities where you can unwind, enjoy the peaceful countryside and listen to the Locher burn meandering past.

An ideal location for Duke of Edinburgh camps and pre arranged youth group visits.

Locherwood is nearby providing a 5.5 km access link to Muirshiel Visitor Centre. The nearest shops, banks, and catering outlets are 4 km away. The site is not suitable for caravans or dogs.

For more information on what is nearby click on one of the links. Locherwood is ‘across the road’ almost, Castle Semple is 4 miles away or Muirshiel can be reached by road or on foot using the Locherwood link route.


Open hours:

Easter to October daily. Shielings must be pre booked.


Charges: 2008

Sheiling: Basic £20, Standard £30 per night, £10 key deposit required
Campsite: Adults £4.00 per person per night. Concessions £3.00 per person per night
Facilities Block: price on application.

on B786 between Lochwinnoch and Kilmacolm, follow brown signs from Lochwinnoch.

Train:

Nearest station Lochwinnoch 5 miles. Ardrossan/Ayr line from Glasgow Central. Johnstone Railway station 6 miles, with taxi rank. www.firstscotrail.co.uk

Bus:

No regular service. SPT Ring’n’ride 965 Gryffe Valley operates in the area. Call 0845 123 5048 or www.spt.co.uk for more details and operating times.

Cycle:

Nearest cycle route is Sustrans route 7 from Bridge of Weir, Torr Road and up onto B786 or Lochwinnoch and up B786.
