Water Quality at Castle Semple Loch
Virtually all of the Anabaena (a type of blue green algae) has been flushed out of the loch during the prolonged wet weather. However, there is still a sufficient amount of Gloeotrichia to maintain a Level 3 warning ie. that an algal scum could occur in light wind conditions and it would be most likely along the shoreline.
