Work experience from Johnstone High School pupil

For my work experience with Muirshiel, through Countryside Officer Alan Brown, I have done a week of sampling and recording the freshwater macroinvertebrates within Clyde Muirshiel Regional Park at three separate places. I took three samples from Castle Semple Loch and two each from two river sites at Muirshiel Centre and Greenock Cut Visitor Centre. One of the many spieces that I found and identified was an Alderfly, as shown in the picture. They are part of the family Sialidae, and are indicators of good, unpolluted water.
